Remote Learning Reflection

We have documented reflections from secondary school teachers about their remote learning experience. This reflection includes the sharing of tools and strategies that worked, and provides a snapshot of the changes we all made during this unique time in education. In the future, it will be interesting to reflect back on what education was like before 2020, and how our practice may forever change going forward.

In the video, five secondary teachers from a variety of schools in Victoria, Australia, comment on their experiences with remote teaching and learning. Each teacher filmed their own responses (social distancing requirements fulfilled) and responded to five questions:

  1. What is your name and what do you teach?

  2. What digital tools did you use most often during remote learning?

  3. What is something that you found challenging during remote learning?

  4. Has this changed your practice in any way going forward? If so, what will you do differently?

  5. Is there anything else you want to add?

The teachers who participated in this reflective project are (in order of appearance):

  • Jodie Costanzo – Commerce Teacher

  • Lauren Cara – English, Literature and History Teacher

  • Letitia Comello – Art, Textiles, Photography and Studio Arts Teacher

  • Matthew Cara – Physical Education and Health Teacher

  • Clare Challenger – Health and English Teacher

Thank you to the teachers who so willingly gave up their time to record this with us. As we reflect on the changes made to our practice, please share with us your experiences. We would love to hear from you.
