Hello and welcome! For the past decade, I’ve spent my time in secondary school classrooms learning and developing the craft of teaching. The everyday ‘corridor conversations’ sparked my journey into teacher professional development: the quick, rushed chats in between classes where teachers get a rare moment to reflect with their colleagues on what worked, what didn’t, and what they are going to do differently tomorrow. I love designing curriculum that makes students think deeply, sharing practical (and research based) teaching strategies, and making assessment, including rubrics, purposeful for both teacher and student. When I am not making rubrics, I spend my time reading books, drinking tea and playing with my cats - no surprises there for an English teacher!

Hi! I’m a former accountant turned teacher who gets excited by numbers, data and all things tech. Having worked in industry before teaching, I entered the profession with an awareness of the lifelong skills that our students will need to thrive in tomorrow’s world. For this reason, I enjoy sharing curriculum that is authentic or ‘real world’, as well as practical teaching strategies that can be used in any setting to provoke student engagement. In my previous roles as Director of Curriculum and as a Learning Specialist, I enjoyed supporting teachers to improve their practice. When I am not crunching numbers, I enjoy DIY projects, watching the St.Kilda F.C. and Grey’s Anatomy (can you believe we up to Season 19… based on current figures, that’s 15 days and 16 hours of my life).
